Interest for Optics:   Birding, Amateur Astronomy and Recreation

Personal Statement:

From Horicon Marsh in Wisconsin to Florida's Gulf Coast, or from Ontario's Lake Superior shoreline to the Kern Valley bioregions in central California, I have been able to use some premium equipment and watch the development of the birding optics market for the past decade. I have enjoyed my membership in the Madison Astronomical Society for many years.

I have had attended many star parties across the country and observed through thru scopes of every size and description, including a once-in-a-lifetime night of observing thru the worlds largest refracting telescope. This was a 10-hour session on the 40-inch Yerkes telescope in Williams Bay, WI.

I have been a regular guest for Wisconsin Public Radio, appearing with Jim Lattis from UW Space Place answering questions about astronomy and optics on the Larry Mueller show.
